Colorado's Cannabis Social Organization
Club 710 was founded in January 2012 after Colorado legalized recreational cannabis. The idea sprouted during the WeedPimps Family Thanksgiving gathering with Dustin & J-dub. 43 people at the same house, trying to smoke together, could not fit in the same room. The idea was the following year when recreational cannabis was legal, they would gather in a space big enough for everyone to smoke together. The task was put to Rob Tillery and Blazing Events to find the venue and a way to do it legally.
On Friday Jan 6th Club 710 held their 1st meeting at Uncle Freds Tavern II. Silver Surfer Vape donated 2 vaporizers & a Volcano, and with Dj Chris Diablo as the entertainment and Scott Smiley (R.I.P.) behind the bud bar, 120 smokers showed up invited only by word of mouth. With the support of dozens of dispensaries and Cannabis friendly businesses, the Club 710 meetings continued for 6 consecutive Friday night's drawing up to 200 people each meeting.
The Zodiac club in downtown Colorado Springs was going to host the 7th meeting until the liquor board of Colorado stepped in and forbid cannabis smoking in bars. Luckily the Lasy Lion offered their building before they were officially opened for business and the 7th meeting happened with a TV crew from Spiegel TV in Germany filming. After that Club 710 had its own clubhouse, off Jetwing, that was open daily for a year. Since then, many meetings have taken place in many different places, Las Vegas on Nevada Hookah Lounge, Club History an old bar without a liquor license and The abandoned Dog Track just to name a few. Club 710 most recently hosted the Cannabis Carnival in Manitou Springs at the INNhale Resort and Spa on 4/20/2024, with club members staffing the entire event. With 700 in attendance, it's the biggest meeting yet.
Club 710 has an open bud and dab bar at every meeting. No cannabis is for sale. All cannabis is donated by members for members. No shared cannabis is to be taken from the meeting. Members may bring their own pipes and bongs. Members are encouraged to bring some of their favorite cannabis to donate to the bud bar. Most cannabis clubs are simply bars looking for stoners, Club 710 is a group of stoners looking for a bar. Join us today.
